Its come to my attention that I haven't written a lot lately, and I find upon asking myself the reasons why, I couldn't think of any. Sheer laziness? Can't be, if I can be stuffed staying up late to watch the Olympics. Lack of interest? Possibly, if there isn't anything interesting to talk about, there's hardly going to be more interest in writing about nothing. 'Nothing comes out of nothing', right?
So in the 'traditional' sense of blogging, am just going to write what comes to mind, and hopefully I can get something down. What's new then? Nothing really. Been concentrating hard on studying, and although that may be a good thing in the long run, it sure sucks in the short run.
My tutoring life is now packed. I start on Saturdays 2pm and finish at 10:30pm. That sustains my living costs now and hopefully I can start saving something I can spend in the next holidays. That would be nice =) Oh, and good luck to my Year 12 students who have their trials at the moment. Its strange thinking that last year it was me who was in their place; facing the same type of pressure which I suppose is the rite of passage to adulthood. For their sake, I wish I had made some impact with their studies.
At university, I was approached by a uni friend Rachel, who asked me to join her group of performers for a short hip hop routine for Twilight night; an event that can be likened to a mini-med-revue. Practices take 4hrs a week, an okay-ish time I suppose.
Rainbow learnt the joys of downloading recently, and has moved on from spending her time on youtube to spending her time lurking on forums to download the latest albums, and the sort. There goes my bandwidth...again.

The Hippocratic Oath / Saturday, August 2, 2008
I swear by Apollo the physician, and Aesculapius, and Hygieia, and Panacea, and all the gods and goddesses that, according to my ability and judgement, I will keep this Oath and this stipulation:
To reckon him who taught me this Art equally dear to me as my parents, to share my substance with him and relieve his necessities if required; to look upon his offspring in the same footing as my own brother, and to teach them this Art, if they shall wish to learn it, without fee or stipulation, and that by precept, lecture, and every other mode of instruction, I will impart a knowledge of the Art to my own sons and those of my teachers, and to disciples bound by a stipulation and oath according to the law of medicine, but to none others.
I will follow that system of regimen which, according to my ability and judgement, I consider for the benefit of my patients, and abstain from whatevber is deleterious and mischievous. I will give no deadly medicine to any if asked, nor suggest any such counsel; and in like manner I will not give a woman a pessary to produce abortion.
With purity and with holiness I will pass my life and practise my Art. I will not cut persons labouring under the stone, but will leave this to be done by men who are practitioners of this work. Into whatever houses I enter I will go into them for the benefit of the sick and will abastain from every voluntary act of mischeif and corruption; and further from the seduction of females or males, of freemen and slaves.
Whatever, in connection with my professional practice, or not in connection with it, I may see or hear in the lives of men which ought not to be spoken of abroad I will not divulge, as reckoning that all such should be kept secret.
While I continue to keep this Oath unviolated may it be granted to me to enjoy life and the practice of the Art, respected by all men, in all times! But should I trespass and violate this Oath, may the reverse be my lot!

He is said to have lived to the age of 109.Many of the statements in this ancient oath remain relevant today, while others, such as euthanasia and abortion, remain controversial.
