So exams have finished, and I'm now pleasantly enjoying my little well earned reprieve of a holiday. Its been quite excellent to me so far, what with the continuous emptying of my wallet. I'm averaging spending around $70 every time I go out, which is kind of o.O. (Well to me at least, I was never a 'big' spender. Although that can probably be explained by the fact a lot of it is/was 'alky' money.) But anyway, it really has been a blast. I decided to blog today simply just to keep track of what I've been up to, since you know, if you don't think about it, you'll just forget about it, and I don't want to forget about me catching up with friends. That's really important, again, to me, of course.
After Monday's exam, the kind MEDSOC persuaded the nice ladies at the unibar to keep it open specifically for us med kiddies. So of course, the notorious reputation of 'med ppl drinking all the time' must be upheld, and drink we did! I was however, deeply saddened by the fact that my asian friends all live up north and I live in the south. So while they all had a smashing time at my friend Will. I. Am.'s place karaoking, I joined my East Hills friends bowling. Which was actually quite jolly-ing good, considering how we were all so so so so shit. XD. But that's just the other way you enjoy sport, either you play it with other really pro people, and have fun, or you play it with really shit people, and only if ur shit too, then its fun.
Tuesday was a quite day. I met up with Shirley Chan Chan and Carol Jie Jie for a good ol' fashioned lunch at Ella's Patisserie, just catching up and generally letting those two continuously make cracks at me. I also remember Shirley killed her DS by having her water bottle leak through her entire bag. Poor girl...
So she dashed off to get her haircut in the city, whilst I had to finish correcting my students' papers and she had her final exam to prepare for. We caught up with the engo boys with their final exam in the library, so it was 'mock study, mock study, mock study'. Went home, and did nothing significant to speak of apart from tutoring another student and having another one asking me for tuition. Decided to quit Kmart once holidays are over.
Wednesday. What happened Wednesday? OH YEAH, I went K with Carol and Shirley!! That was such a good time. Carol took us to Pepper Lunch, and boy oh boy, that place is fast! And relatively good to eat. =) We went K at Green Box +, and omg, have not been there since my 17th birthday. The music is chat there though, coz seriously, how can you not have new songs (well, not even new, its been like 1/2 a year since the songs i wanted to sing were out) . All in all, a good 'K' outing. =D OH, AND I SPAMMED BUYING MANGA AT KINO!! I love my manga. =)
Thursday. This was a Chinese School reunion Day, where I met up with Michelle (Moshii), Wendy (Wendo) and Brendan (Seriously brendan, ur like the only one out of us who doesn't have their own nickname. =.-) Yet again, K was in order but this time we hit Big Echo, where 4 mikes were expected to give us 3hrs of $10pp fun! Again, Pepper Lunch was venue for eating, but this time for dinner. Talked for ages there, and had a good catch up conversation with the few 'good canto-speaking asians' that I spent countless Sunday hours with during high school. So we did the good asian thing and took stickies and skill testing at Capitol.
Friday was blood drive day, as organised by the one and only Linda Lin. It was my 1st time, and it hurt. =P And thus, my blood giving virginity was lost. With our arms a bit sore, the guys met up with the girls and we watched....HAIYAH! KUNG FU PANDA! It is HILARIOUS! IF YOU HAVN"T SEEN IT, WATCH IT!! =D. When the movie finished, I was actually quite sick of being in the city, so I just went home. Coincidentally, everybody else was also a bit bored, and also went home. Yay, company. =D
Saturday was Victor Nguyen's house birthday party. Must thank Jezzie for driving me and David to Vic's place. Seriously, Bankstown seemed a long way off. When we got there, colossal stacks of men were already there entertaining themselves. (Yes, I wrote it intentionally to be read on multiful levels). Playstation 3, Wii with Mario Kart, Good ol' fashioned N64, mahjong and alot of CS was played. All activities that don't require us talking. The way it was meant to be.
I skip ahead. We all went out to play Basketball first. The one sport that ties us all together. I must say, I'm extremely rusty. Must be the shit rings we have at UWS. Me and Moussa blame the kiddy rings. Seriously, a uni should have proper rings, not this 6foot rings shit. Left around 4:30-ish because I promised Mum to be home for dinner, and had a student for tutoring at 8:30. Finished that around 10:15-ish and hurriedly ran out for Mosh's b'day clubbing party.
Met up with Bill, who was at Star City beforehand, and we headed out to Verandah Bar, which was supposedly in Town Hall, but actually located right next to Martin Place station. Yay for guestlist entry, felt quite important actually. Hehe. Nothing to say about clubbing, its fun. You know what I mean, we've all done it. I'll list the important facts: Birthday girl was drunk. Enough asians to make for a good club, but not enough of them to call the place 'dirty' or 'Space-like'. Drinks were so and so pricey. Standard prices. Had 3 tequilas shots, and 2 Smirnoffs. I like sucking lemons. =D Good on Henry and Daniel for coming out with me. Took the Nightbus back home and fell asleep the moment I hit the bed. Was around 4:30am.
Sunday. Woke up at 2pm. Did tutoring corrections for students and then had a two hour tuition session with my sister on Chemistry. When I finished it was 7pm, and I quickly got changed for Phie's dinner at Star Bar. Got there around 8:15, and fearing I had already missed dinner, shot upstairs and met a whole bunch of people I've never met before. Wished the pretty birthday girl my sincerest good intentions and had a smashing time getting owned in pool. Was nice seeing everybody again after so long. =) And good work on Ping (think that's her name, I'm horrible with names) and Tina for doing the Tequila shot with us. And many thanks to Samson and his ahem, direct conversations. Shek was a lightweight and puked his goodness all over the train and Alfie saw him off. I hit home around 12am and collapsed, still tired from Sat night. Why is it we still feel so tired even if we've had adequate sleep. Stress phenomenon? Unaccustomed increase in daily activities? Note to self: check it up in one of your textbooks.
Monday. Crashed Yu Lin's place, who btw, moved back to the street next to mine. Saw Alfie there and remembered he slept over at Yu Lin's the night before. We went out for lunch with Shek at Canton House. Havn't been there in ages. Wonton Noodles there is verr tasty.
Shek went home. The rest of us went to Lily's house because she apparently has 'nothing to do'. Played a lot of mahjong before I went to Bankstown RSL for buffet with family friends. Turns out it was the day the selective school results came out, so yeah, celebrated the fact one of the kiddies made Sydney Tech. Although the mood was also quite awkward, since he was a smart kid, and not dissing Sydney Tech or anything, but failed to make Baulko, and like Reserve place 40 for Sydney Boys. So yeah...let him continuously vent his rage through smashing people in my PSP. Completely drained my battery. Had parents drop me back in Beverly Hills where I walked it to Lily's and continued the poker/dvd/mahjong get together. Congrats also to Kelly, Lily's sister, for making North Sydney Girls.
Wow, I wrote like heaps. I wonder if anybody even made it all the way down from the start of this blog. And writing all this was actually quite relaxing, because it feels like I havn't been home in ages. Because now I"m finally up to what I did today.
Tuesday. I know alot of people went to Alfred's movie thing today, and I'm actually kinda regretting that I didn't go myself. But I woke up at like 11am, and Priscilla proceeded to call me and announced she was coming over. She arrived at like 12, demanding lunch. 10 min later Yu Lin comes over and says he needs the internet since he doesn't have it atm, and needs to sign a contract with BigPond just so he can get line rental. Seriously, he doesn't even have a home number atm. The woes of living alone with your parents up the coast.
Cooked the two noodles, scrambled egg and spam. Easy lunch. Was okay. Should've added more salt to the eggs. Then I proceeded to go shopping with Pris for a while, and bought a pair of jeans and a scarf.
I came home, and started writing this blog post, and this has taken me like 1/2 an hour and maybe more to write. And during the process of writing this, Pris just called me and told me that I took the wrong pair of jeans and she has mine. T_T. So yeah, she's coming over now and exchanging them. Yayyers. And that is all! And btw, I really love this song that's playing. Its like the 2nd one of his 勁歌金曲, except this time, its a compilation of the greatest mando songs.
So yeah, Cambridge in and out I suppose. Birthday coming up in 2 days. I feel old.

Lucky Star / Monday, October 8, 2007

Okay, I failed. Horribly.
Thus far my studying isn't going
exactly to plan... =_=
Maybe I just set up an impossible timetable.
But probably not.
I've spent the entire last week d/l-ing and watching an entire anime series.
I blame Kyoto animation for making good anime so yes, I'm a loyal fanboy.
At first, I thought Lucky Star was just a boring anime (and I was right. The first episode was sooOoo boring I actually skipped minutes ahead hoping something was interesting). Apparently, I wasn't the only person who thought so, coz they actually sacked the director guy of the anime after episode 4.
But really, its actually a fascinating anime about 4 high school girls...and life. Ok, so its a rehash of Azumangah Daioh, but hey, that was a good anime too! But honestly, I only really d/led the anime because of its relentless parodies of other animes.

Konata!!!! SHE ROCKS!! Parody Number 1.

Hehehe...

Initial D Parody. XD
Gawsh
The intro song is also extremely catchy "Motteke Sailor Fuku" Brilliant stuff. Goes right up there with "Hare Hare Yukai". And that's the brilliance of Lucky Star... BECAUSE it was made by KyoAni, it means it shares the same source as the other bright anime light that's gone past.
The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi.

Now, this parody had me on the floor for ages.... SUZUMIYA HARUHI!!! HARUHISM! F.T.W!
Maybe its the dry humour, maybe its the situational comedy but I think its more because of the similarities between the series and reality that made me love this funny 24 episode anime.

lolololo..... Kinda speaks for itself...

ROFLCOPTERSKATES!!! WOOOT!!
So basically, I spammed 24 episodes of fun-ness between 4 or 5 days, which really tells you the amount of time I've spent studying. Damn all this.....>.<"

This image will practically sum up my HSC and the essence of
TOMOSAKA
I'm not going to bother reviewing this series properly until the HSC is over, but I just had to write something.
Aya Hirano is an awesome seiyuu. =)
I can't help but continue to lap up the endless parodies

FULL METAL PANIC!!!! ARBALEST!! omg...dies*

Okay...even if ur a complete anime n00b u should know this is a parody of Yu-Gi-Oh..

Okay...so there's even subtle references to other animes.... KeroKeroKero

And this is for Geoff... just to grab ur attention about the uber-ness about this anime.
