Shooting Star / Friday, September 24, 2010
This is the park that I always go to.
I can see the sunset on-the-slide.
Since long time ago, it was my own special tower.
If I have any troubles, I always come here to hide.
Ever since that time, I'm still in the middle of my dream.
Even in my prime, I'm not able to fulfill it.
Maybe this is the end...
What a weak voice that I speak in.

But there are also days that seem a little spicy.
And then I'll remember
looking for that shooting star in the night sky.
The wish I made when I was small
hasn't changed with the passage of time.

When I look at the sky,
the stars are still embracing.
These stars look like a crowd of people
all radiating down with different types of light.
That's right, that's why...
I want to shine once.
I close my eyes and swear far and far.
I entrust my dream to a shooting star.

Trot trot trot... / Friday, August 28, 2009

Backblogging now, and just wanted tosayhappyonemonth<3yeah,itsinsmalltextcasimgangsterlikethat

Friday morning was almost the most perfect weather yo
u could've asked for in a winter. 26-27 degrees, no rain, and reasonably warm. All of which contributes to the awesomely cheerful and happy persona I had the entire day. Although I didn't get as much sleep as I would've liked beforehand (due to I don't know how many hours of skype), I was pretty awake and alert.

To celebrate this joyous day, I was given the arduous task of planning some immaculate details about certain specifics, especially those pertaining to the ever-present questions of WHAT to do, as well as WHERE to do it in. After hours of painful internet searching and yellow-page flicking, I finally decided...

to give up and just consult the 'to-do list' and picked an activity I thought we'd both enjoy instead. SO then, I picked...

the city. =P

Well, to be honest, there were other options on the table, but I decided that messing with her would be most fun for me and most annoying for her (doubly rewarding XD). And it would also cause her no end of trouble trying to guess what the specific activity was if I gave her hints, so I did.

On a different sidenote here, I think its interesting that the female psyche loves to be surprised, but at the same time, can't wait for it at the same time. Over the course of the week, any conversation I had with the gf always included dialogue that went along these lines:
----
C: "So do you want me to tell you what it is?"
A: "No! Don't tell me! Its meant to be a surprise!"
C: "Oh, okay. I won't tell you then. =)"
A: "NOoOooOoo!! Tell me!"
C: "Oka-"
A: "No wait! Don't tell me!"
C: "So do you want me to tel-"
A: "No, okay. Tell me."
C: "..."
A: "..."
C: "I-"
A: "No wait! Don't tell me."
C: *internal thought* "lol"
A: "Okay, how about a hint?"
-------------
Okay, now that you have the backstory, I shall continue.
You can join in the fun and see if you could guess what said activity was.
Monday hint: Wear long pants and socks
Tuesday hint: You may want to bring a spare change of clothes after and the event requires booking beforehand
Wednesday hint: It involves some small level of physical activity, and lasts about 1hour
Thursday hint: Price range is about $70 p.p
Friday Morning (1am) hint: Location is at Centennial Park

Can you guess what it is?
Find out...after the break (and the rest of my unncessarily long recount)
-------

We met up at Central and were instantly whisked away on the bus to Centennial (I'm going to pretend we never went to Hungry Jacks for breakfast cas that's besides the point). I was a bit worried because the stupid weather didn't turn out as I said earlier (blame the weatherman! Its always the weatherman!) and it was actually extremely cloudy. I was scared it was going to rain because that would totally ruin my groove. Luckily, it didn't. Oh, and also because I made an 11am booking.

And then, there we were...
"Centennial Stables" - the prime location for horse-riding for anyone who doesn't want to drive somewhere remote (to my uni for example @.@)

Seriously though, Horse-riding is a blast! I mean, I totally havn't done anything like that since I was like 6, and the fact that I donated blood the day before meant that every time my horse decided to trot instead of walk, I felt like I was flying with the lightest feeling in my head.

I would totally recommend everyone to go because it was really enjoyable. (If you don't mind the cost that is). I paid for a park ride for 2 for $140, which includes a 1 hour private walk around the park with one instructor.

Our horses were really slow, so our park ride went on for an hour and a half. More bang for your buck ;) Love our horses Dex and Bing. (Refer to photos, Dex being the uglier one who would slow down to a crawl and then decide to trot to catch up and Bing being the smaller one for...well, the smaller one =P)

Enough chatter, here are some photos.
Piglet with Bing

Me and Dex. =)

So, with the main event out of the way, I'm out of steam to really type up the other things that made up the rest of the day.
----

As always, a brief summary.
- Took A to Fox Studios cas she's never been there and went to watch District 9. DOn't know what to think about it, "too much like Cloverfield" was the quote that comes to head. Fox cinemas as always, are empty...
I remember reading this book when I was really really young...I can't believe its going to be a movie.

- Went to UNSW, handed in a history assignment.
- Went to eat dinner at Wagaya. I've never been before, so that was awesomes. Tasted really good, but really $$, but oh well, what can you do about that. Takoyaki is so good...Good recommendation A! And we didn't have to wait at all either! =D =D
- Went Chinatown friday night street shopping. It t'was a good way to pass the time and picked up a present for my mum's b'day too! We went along buying snacks along the way (buying is plural, eating was pretty much all me lol).
- Was getting on with the times, and we were already full, so took A back home. =)

Again, let me just say,
Happy One Month Dear. =)

Myers-Briggs personality type: ENTP / Monday, July 13, 2009
Extraverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceptive

Thanks to Bonnie for discovering this quizz, I was actually really impressed with the result! =O Because I've never really thought I belonged to a set personality type, I was doubly impressed when I researched and found validity with its source.

It turns out I'm a ENTP.

The ENTP has been described variously as the innovator,[11] the originator,[12] the lawyer,[13] the inventor,[14] the explorer,[15] and the visionary.[13] ENTPs also fall into the general categories of thinkers, rationals, and engineers.[16] Using their primary function-attitude of extraverted intuition (Ne), ENTPs are quick to see complex interrelationships between people, things, and ideas. These interrelationships are analyzed in profound detail through the ENTPs auxiliary function, introverted thinking (Ti). The result is an in-depth understanding of the way things and relationships work, and how they can be improved. To the ENTP, competence and intelligence are particularly prized, both in themselves and in other people.

ENTPs are frequently described as clever, cerebrally and verbally quick, enthusiastic, outgoing, innovative, flexible, loyal and resourceful. ENTPs are motivated by a desire to understand and improve the world they live in. They are usually accurate in sizing up a situation. They may have a perverse sense of humor and sometimes play devil's advocate, which can create misunderstandings with friends, coworkers, and family. ENTPs are ingenious and adept at directing relationships between means and ends. ENTPs "think outside the box," devising fresh, unexpected solutions to difficult problems. However, they are less interested in generating and following through with detailed plans than in generating ideas and possibilities. When ENTPs are used correctly on a team, they offer deep understanding and a high degree of flexibility and problem solving ability. The ENTP regards a comment like "it can't be done" as a personal challenge, and, if properly motivated, will spare no expense to discover a solution.

Relationship advice / Wednesday, July 8, 2009
The following is copied pasted out of a msn conversation I had with a friend a few nights ago in regards to her recent breakup with her ex. She wanted to know how I was getting through mine and I typed up a spiel just so she may gain an insight to my thought processes.

edit: Please bear in mind this was written at like 2am. So if it doesn't make sense, sorry. It probably seemed like a good idea at the time.

-----
"being single again for the past few weeks have brought back a lot of stuff I didn't realise I'd had lost when I was in a relationship and now I realise that I can use those things to help improve my next one
hanging with different crowds, and looking at how the singletons interact with each other and i've noted my own exchange with various other single girls barring what I can't remember or what I did when I was drunk, there are a couple of things I've learnt about myself.

1. I must be confident in myself. Confidence can be shattered in relationships, but they can also be rebuilt when you are single. That's all it really means to be 'ready' for the next relationship.
all a matter of 'confidence' in yourself, and 'confidence' in that potential partner. I don't like throwing the word 'trust' in there, only because trust denotes a more personal understanding of that person, which can be seriously lacking if there is no foundation for that 'trust' in that first place. I think that was a lesson that was present in ur relationship with kel, confusing 'confidence' with 'trust'.

2. I just need to widen my eyes a bit more to see who's truly looking with similar interests like myself, and those who only want a bit of fun teasing etc. Its hard to tell in the beginning how to distinguish those flirting with you to see if you're worth sticking with, and those who only want to flirt with you because they can and want to. Because If I know that, I can avoid a lot of worthless time-wasting between relationships

3. In these holidays alone, true, I have been approached by a girl on one occasion where there might have been something going on, but I must always remember the lessons I've learnt before and not let pure physical attraction get in the way of what I'm looking for. Rather, focus my attention at looking at girls who I feel deserve that attention, and can reciprocate that.

4) I've also listened to a fair share of break up/make up stories these holidays, which like i said, is v. common during exam periods. Each one yields a wealth of information that you can use to arm yourself with in the future. Just because it didn't happen to yourself doesn't mean that you can't learn something from it. so if you wondered how I'm so patient with you and can still find positive things to say about it afterwards, its all merely my thanks to you for allowing me to privy to that information. And that, is what I call true 'trust'.

5) Lastly, based on all those lessons I've learnt above, it initially did seem that I had enough in there to easily find the type of person that I want/need, but of course, reality begs to differ. I know that some may want to call it 'rushing', but to me, not only is that concept more seemingly like another's excuse, but is also a very subjective term. Through my interactions with other girls in general, I have felt potential sparks with certain individuals. Its a powerful and shocking feeling, and definitely one I wish to explore with further detail.

Again, just knowing these things isn't enough. This is where what people call 'fate' or 'luck' comes in. Unfortunately, a large amount of the time, its all due to 'circumstances' and 'chance' which determine what type of people you meet and at what instance you meet them at, because it is very easy to miss a chance with someone just because of a circumstance didn't allow you to talk to him/her properly enough for you to realise that there may be something there.

I hope i've written enough there to satisfy you tonight. I'm really typed out now."

Today, I found hope and peace / Tuesday, June 16, 2009
..realised something.

"There is always hope"

P.S. On a sidenote, just watched the trailer for Time Traveller's Wife. I so can't wait for it to come out!

P.P.S. I recently (as of start of stuvac) decided to pick up on some mangas I stopped reading a bit over 2 year agos. (My logic back then was that I was tired of waiting for weekly releases, so I'll just wait for the series to finish first and then just read it all).

Out of all of them, I think this one had the most meaning to me.
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles.
To the layman, the characters probably look familiar, no? Sakura and 'Li' or 'Syaoran' from Cardcaptor Sakura?
Yup, that's right. Well, not really. I read all the way up to chapter 222 from chapter 47 (where I left off) and I can only say 'WAAWOOOOOOOWWWW...'.
I thought it was just a completely different storyline/universe from CCS but no! I can't believe I saw the actual CCS characters again.

So that's my pick. Ties in a bit of my childhood with a bit of my high school self. Don't you just love that feeling when the pieces of a puzzle falls all into place?

P.P.P.S. I have my last anatomy exam tmr. But I just can't concentrate and study properly for that. I feel like I know it all already, but you know..that's usually the feeling you'd regret having the moment you walk in and face ultimate GG.

Oh, and last P.P.P.P.S for fun. I like having this final reminder for you.
Don't move too fast. I know that it sometimes feels like progress, but really, that's more like expansion. One day the balance will go askew and you'll find yourself falling off.
But then again...you take the risks, you reap the bigger rewards...
Who's to say what's right or wrong, after all...

Hiatus / Thursday, May 14, 2009
The blog will be on hiatus until further notice.

I'm sorry. Feeling quite stressed at the moment. Things are just stacking up and I'll need to have some time to deal with it all.
To summarise:
1. Just finished Week 12 and doing Week 9 notes.
2. Doing week 9 notes although I only know about 30% of it all.
3. Formative exam was gg.
4. Family matters.
5. Overall feeling overwhelmed and needing to cut back on non-essential activities (Except basketball)
6. Needing an excuse to cut off leisure activities just to make myself feel better about it.
7. Mainly needing to make more time out of having none.
8. Angry at how smart people seem to know it all and you take an hour to understand something they get straight away.
9. Angry at stupid lecturers with accents you don't understand; especially if they crack jokes that you don't find funny. "Did you guys watch House last night?! How weird is Amber and hallucinations? Hall-lucee-nations... haha, get it?!" - "NO! I DON"T!"
10. Kamehameha!
11. Screaming out that word really helps me destress. Lol, that's funny, ain't it? XD That technique has worked for me since '93

I apologise for any inconvenience caused =P
Let's set an arbitrary date for my next blog post...say...June 18th?
Check back then.

Now, say it with me:
KA!
-ME!
-HA!

Black Or White / Wednesday, March 11, 2009
Dark days are part of our lives, but having said that so are light days. There is supposed to be an opposite for everything. For good there is bad, for up there is down, you get the idea.

But for many people there are no opposite, they selectively choose to see one side of things, for them there is no good and all bad, or there is no down only up. Their world is an all or nothing existence; full of light or full of darkness. They only move up or down, and never stop to consider the alternative.

Both cases are bad, we need change, we need flexibility, and we need the darkness and the light. We are not created to be constant; we are created to be changed. Always evolving, growing and surpassing ourselves. It' s those very contrasts of life that enables us to do so.

Here is the argument proposed by Paul Lucas, a little-known philosopher who wrote I book I picked up at Hurstville Library, "The No Road": If we only see the world as all good, why bother with change? It'll is perfect the way it is. If we see everything as down, then what’s the use of even trying to change, it will only end in a downward motion.

Of course, these would be considered extremist views, but in lieu of this he provides boundaries for us to work with and consider, lest we brand them fallacies to the argument.

It is the ebb and flow of grey that create the need to grow, the need to see things in a new light. We need balance, we need to be dark and light up and down… We need to allow ourselves the privilege of contrast. The black and white lights are what give the world its colors. If we have no black, we would have no color, no variations to what we see or experience.

So allow yourself the experience to live the black and white of life, to see the ups and downs and to know the colors of the world. If you are down, appreciate the moment, because you can now look forward for the up. If you are up, relish your situation, because you will have your down.

I wrote this post not for any real attempt to sound 'deep' or 'reflective', but I felt it would be good for me to look back and admire another lesson learnt in this ever-changing society where tiny moments of truth and education are easily lost as we mature further and further into the monotony of adulthood.

For that reason, I give you my new layout. I'm going to go find that grey in between and see if I can get both light and dark, because I"m indecisive and want everything.

Marley and Me / Saturday, January 10, 2009
Marley and Me is a really touching movie - totally not what I had expected just watching the tv commercials for the damn thing (but then again, they never really do tell you what to expect, do they?)

Before I get started, I'd just like to say that I'm a tremendous dog fan. I love dogs, but particularly for Labradors and Beagles, which in this case, a Labradador, so all good. The movie exceeded my expectations more probably because I had really low ones for this film. I mean, Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston are suitable actors/actresses for rom-coms, but for a film that has more 'aww...this is so sad' than 'some serious romance happening', they did way better than expected.

But honestly, Owen Wilson is a hard-worker. Technically speaking, he must've jumped onto this project the moment he recovered from his attempted-suicide. As for Jen, man, for an older actress, she's still ace hot. Again, this is one of those 'as-you-age' films, where they start off in their 20's and end up in their 40's-50's films. Life-to-death films are usually like that, and this one worked for me.

Here's a quote from the end of the movie which had the entire subtext embedded in it:

"What I really wanted to say was how this animal had touched our souls and taught us some of the most important lessons od our lives. 'A person can learn a lot from a dog, even a loopy one like ours,' I wrote. "Marley taught me about living each day with unbridled exuberance and joy, about seizing the moment and following your heart. He taught me to appreciate the simple things- a walk in the woods, a fresh snowfall, a nap in a shaft of winter sunlight. And as he grew old and achy, he taught me about optimism in the face of adversity. Mostly, he taught me about friendship and selflessness and, above all else, unwavering loyalty'"

I'm going to buy the DVD when it comes out.

PS: Thankyou Jenny and Alice for going Yumcha with me.
PPS: Sorry Ray I missed your BBQ. Please don't kick me out of the brotherhood. Make it up to you next time big guy! Hope you like your size 14 shoes ;)

Resolutions '09 / Wednesday, December 31, 2008
List of Resolutions I have for 2009
Personal:
- I will get rid of my huge ego and try to be humble and modest.
- I will control my body's physical fitness
- I will talk louder and slower.
- I will contribute more to group discussions.
- I will look for alternatives other than the easiest way out.
- I will stop giving good sound advice that I know that I won't take myself. In conjunction, I will stop being such a hypocrite.
- I will always think before I act, in an attempt to provide a sounder sense of decisions.

Social:
- I will be a better friend this year
- I will try to demonstrate a wider belief in things beyond people's expectations for me. Likewise, I will erase all expectations I have for people.
- I will definitely focus more on myself than other people this year. Knowing oneself is loving oneself, and I can't help others if I can't help myself.
- I will organise less activities, and want to partake more. 2009 will be a year when leadership won't be one of my leading qualities.
- I will see if I can have a girlfriend who understands and accepts my good qualities, but loves me for my flaws and weaknesses. This resolution I can live without.
- I will not go clubbing more than 3 times this year.
- I will also not get drunk, nor do drugs, nor smoke.
- I will learn to play a song on the guitar
- I will learn how to do tricks on a skateboard.

Work:
- I will find a job that I love and stay in it.
- I will succeed in uni this year and redouble my efforts to achieve my goal.
- I will not study for the sake of passing the exams, but for the sake of my future patients as a future doctor.
- I will not be tempted by med kids to go out and drink till we are dead just because we are med kids.
- I will stop playing so much dota/cs in the computer labs.
- I will also participate more in the anatomy labs.
- I will definitely ask more questions this year, especially if I'm unsure, and not pretend that I"m just as knowledgeable as everyone else.

"Try my best. Prepare for the worst" - quoted from my Dad about his own life.

Human Stories are the best / Monday, December 22, 2008

A Sheffield man who lent a penniless Australian tourist £5 to pay for a ferry trip in 1969 has been repaid his debt nearly 40 years later.

While Jim Webb was out, a card and £200 was hand delivered to his home by Gary Fenton, to repay the money he borrowed when they met in Ostend, Belgium.

A note inside read: "To Jim Webb, a good man. From Gary Fenton, a tardy payer of debts."

Mr Webb, 72, has appealed for Mr Fenton to get back in touch.

Mr Webb and a friend were travelling around Europe in April 1969 when they met the Australian traveller, then in his early 20s, at a ferry port in Ostend.

He said: "A young man came up to us and said he hadn't got enough money to get back to England and would we lend him £5 and he'd repay us as soon as he could afford it."

The three men travelled back to England and when they parted Mr Fenton took Mr Webb's address, but he never heard from him.

In this day and age promises are made and promises are broken and you lose your faith in human nature
Jim Webb

Then on Sunday, he returned to his home in Bradway to find the surprise card.

Mr Webb said: "I was quite emotional when I read it. In this day and age promises are made and promises are broken and you lose your faith in human nature.

"This was a lovely gesture. Forty years is a long time - it must have been preying on his mind that he hadn't repaid his debt.

"He said he was giving me £200 as that was £5 for every year that had gone by."

Mr Webb said the card explained how Mr Fenton, who now lived in Sydney, had come across his address while looking through some old papers.

His note said he had decided to pay him a visit and repay his debt while on a trip to London.

Mr Webb, who is giving the £200 to charity, said: "He didn't leave an address or telephone number, just an email address which I have tried but so far I haven't heard back.

"I am very sorry I was not in on Sunday... he would have been very welcome here. Hopefully we will be able to make contact, it would be wonderful to meet up again."

----

I also found this touched my human soul. Just a bit. And that in itself, is awesome. Exam finishes at 12:30pm today, so after that, free again.

I have two words to say to that.

"Suit up!"

Just a few days in review / Saturday, December 6, 2008
Pictures tell a thousand words, so pictures there shall be! In no particular order, just stuff lying around on my phone

Pharmball is pricey.
Lasertag is short pants.
Weird Octopus is weird decorations.
Wall.E is full of lol.
Excellent parking is skillz.

I have a video of us in Kiama weekend, but unfortunately, I deleted the file and only Yi has it now. So if you want to see some really wack dancing by Kat, Yi, Ray and Terry, ask Yi for it. =P

Post is done.

PS: Polysommogram is pushed back because I'm only 'semi-urgent'. Basically I think too much when I sleep, and that with my obstructed airways, causes massive fatigue during the daytime. So yeah, imagine me with 10x more hyperactivity and creativity than I already show, and that's me on 'normal' apparently.

PPS: Saw the optometrist today. Right eye is -0.25/-0.25, Left eye is 0/-0.25. So it turns out I have astigmatism in both my eyes but only short sighted in my right. Also turns out that the black dot I have in my eye is actually a mole. LOL!! And that in my eye I have a floater (clumped up jelly) which obstructs vision which also explains why there's a black dot in my vision if I look from my right eye. Cool huh?

I think the words 'Don't worry' should be banned, stripped apart and then dissected. After that, stomped on and incinerated. Similarly, I think the words 'Don't worry' should be replaced with the words 'DON"T PANIC!" because seriously, who could panic after seeing the phrase 'DON"T PANIC!'.

On a completely random tangent, I think I may have discovered the answer to life.
Its '42'. Genius no?

I hate Gerald Munch. It hurts when he rapes me like he did in today's test. =(

Also, go music. I actually like Jay Chou's latest album. Surprising...and scary, yet soothing and fun. There isn't any other way for me to express it but simply to leave it as....

"DON"T PANIC!"

Reflections on life Part III / Sunday, October 12, 2008
Credits to Bishin for sharing this.
--------------------------
--------
Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word "refrigeration" mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk k and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, "How about going to lunch in a half hour?" She would gas up and stammer, "I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, it looks like rain" And my personal favorite: "It's Monday." She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of "I'm going to," "I plan on," and "Someday, when things are settled down a bit."

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask "How are you?" Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, "We'll do it tomorrow." And in your haste, not see his sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say "Hi"?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

"Life may not be the party we hoped for... but while we are here we might as well dance!" Life is short; break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile.

"OmgOmgOmg...Eh..tomorrow" / Saturday, September 6, 2008
Okay okay, so its a new theme. Well, technically, not that new of a theme anymore, since I put it on a week ago and havn't bothered to do anything about it. In addition, I scabbed it off blogskins, since I have zero html experience and I feel bad if I keep asking Yi to make one for me once every half year. And yeah, I wanted an anime type of feel to it (inner nerd ftw!) and this is the result. I was also partially inspired by my spelling mistake of 'cyane' (and again, kudos to Yi for pointing that out to me).

EDIT: Quite right Yi. It is indeed 'cyan'. I'm a slow learner, I'm afraid.

Moving on, I have been quite busy lately. There's a formative exam coming up on Monday, and I as always, feel like I havn't studied for it and I really should. Don't you just hate it when you know you oughta do something and especially when you know its not too late to change things but you just sit there and go, "yeah...I'll get to it later".

That's exactly how I felt...2 weeks ago. And 2 weeks later now I'm still thinking 'yeah..tomorrow. Definitely tomorrow'. But now its mixed with a tinge of 'omgomgomgomgomgomgomgomgomg...'.
I'm also blogging right now because I have this little lull between students coming here for tutoring. You see, you may or may not be aware of this, but, ever since I've quitted working at Kmart, I've picked up alot more tutoring students. Every Saturday, I start tutoring from 11am-5pm, then have a little break for dinner before going again till 10:30pm. Fortunately, one of my students doesn't regularly show up in the 7pm slot, so I get a little more time off.

And I just sit there during the lessons, teaching, teaching and teaching...all the while staring at the clock. I don't mean to do it deliberately, but after you've taught the student and she's busy doing the question (yeah, all female students. Guys don't want tutoring or something?!), there's nothing to do except turn your pen and...look at the clock!

Okay, no more time to talk now, student is coming in! Blog next week this time maybe? XD

LG Viewty / Friday, July 25, 2008
So I'm back at uni again. Been back for 2 weeks now. And slowly counting it down...12 more weeks, just 12 more weeks to go...

And it aint all bad. Exam marks came back, and I reckon they were deserving. Wish they were just a lil higher though. Regardless, it doesn't matter. It all depends on 2nd semester anyway...that's worth the muda-fookin 65%

Alot of people are spending their last week of holidays going out now; and although I cannot join you guys, I still wish you guys have fun...spending what's left of your cash. I know I've already gone broke during mine, and mine were half the length of yours.

Oh, and of course, saying happy birthdays' to Yi for turning 19 and Bonnie on turning 18 (on the 28th I know, but looking at my erratic posts, probably won't post in time)

My new timetable looks exactly the same as the old one, except now my clinical day is now moved to Thursday at 9am. Seriously, I hate my clinical doctor tutor. He sucks ass. Major ass. Last semester I think we had subs show up more than he ever did. And on the times he does show up, he turns up at least 1/2 hr late. To add to that, he keeps moving our times. From Tuesdays at 2pm (when he rocks up at 2:30pm) to Tuesdays at 2:30pm (where he shows up at 3pm) then to Thursdays at 10am (where he didn't even show) and now to Thursdays at 9am (yet to know if he'll turn up on time, but his track record isn't good). I have a half a mind to start a complaint, because at this rate, I'm going to fail my 2nd semester practicals. I cannot afford to have that happen. And he gives crappy feedback. Um...oh, and yeah! He's probably moving us around just to fill in his clinical rounds! Other doctors keep calling him and asking him where he is and he just answers, "I'm with my students at the moment..." Lame, lazy doctor.

On the bright side I can now do gastro-intestinal examinations, albeit shoddily. Stethoscope was also used for the 1st time. W00t~

And I also got myself a new phone. I'm now officially with '3' on the $29 cap for the LG U990, otherwise known as the LG Viewty.
Really sexy...
Having barely used it for 2 days, I can't really comment on it without considerable bias. Or shouts of enthusiam detailing just how sexy it is, how the touch-screen functionality is just really really cool, or just how phat the screen is, or the complete slickness of the 5 megapixel camera. I realise that going to uni now kind of means I should have outgrown that high-school fervent behaviour of whipping out the new phone and telling everybody, so I can only restrict myself to my blog here. =) Regardless, I'm very happy.

Here letting a holler that my new number is 0430 352 100. Store this if you're with 3. Otherwise, my existing number 0405 840 960 for any people with Optus.

There were other things that I wanted to say, but kinda want to do some tute homework now, so I shall post some other time.

OH OH OH! I remember something I have to post!
I've been reading Amy Tan lately (yes, the author of titles such as 'Joy Luck Club' and 'The Kitchen God's Wife') and having chanced upon this gem of a book titled 'The opposite of fate'. This book can be called her own autobiography of sorts, except its written as a jumbled series of memories in the form of entries, ranging from her own writing competition entries as an 8 year old to her own frustrated writing/thinking processes as a modern writer.

Extremely insightful and full of facts of life
I found tears welling in the confines of my eyes near 3 times at various sections of the book, although I'm sure its because of how well any Asian-Australian can relate to her own woes growing up as a child of two cultures. I recommend it as a must-read.

Latest Happenings / Tuesday, July 1, 2008
So exams have finished, and I'm now pleasantly enjoying my little well earned reprieve of a holiday. Its been quite excellent to me so far, what with the continuous emptying of my wallet. I'm averaging spending around $70 every time I go out, which is kind of o.O. (Well to me at least, I was never a 'big' spender. Although that can probably be explained by the fact a lot of it is/was 'alky' money.) But anyway, it really has been a blast. I decided to blog today simply just to keep track of what I've been up to, since you know, if you don't think about it, you'll just forget about it, and I don't want to forget about me catching up with friends. That's really important, again, to me, of course.

After Monday's exam, the kind MEDSOC persuaded the nice ladies at the unibar to keep it open specifically for us med kiddies. So of course, the notorious reputation of 'med ppl drinking all the time' must be upheld, and drink we did! I was however, deeply saddened by the fact that my asian friends all live up north and I live in the south. So while they all had a smashing time at my friend Will. I. Am.'s place karaoking, I joined my East Hills friends bowling. Which was actually quite jolly-ing good, considering how we were all so so so so shit. XD. But that's just the other way you enjoy sport, either you play it with other really pro people, and have fun, or you play it with really shit people, and only if ur shit too, then its fun.

Tuesday was a quite day. I met up with Shirley Chan Chan and Carol Jie Jie for a good ol' fashioned lunch at Ella's Patisserie, just catching up and generally letting those two continuously make cracks at me. I also remember Shirley killed her DS by having her water bottle leak through her entire bag. Poor girl...
So she dashed off to get her haircut in the city, whilst I had to finish correcting my students' papers and she had her final exam to prepare for. We caught up with the engo boys with their final exam in the library, so it was 'mock study, mock study, mock study'. Went home, and did nothing significant to speak of apart from tutoring another student and having another one asking me for tuition. Decided to quit Kmart once holidays are over.

Wednesday. What happened Wednesday? OH YEAH, I went K with Carol and Shirley!! That was such a good time. Carol took us to Pepper Lunch, and boy oh boy, that place is fast! And relatively good to eat. =) We went K at Green Box +, and omg, have not been there since my 17th birthday. The music is chat there though, coz seriously, how can you not have new songs (well, not even new, its been like 1/2 a year since the songs i wanted to sing were out) . All in all, a good 'K' outing. =D OH, AND I SPAMMED BUYING MANGA AT KINO!! I love my manga. =)

Thursday. This was a Chinese School reunion Day, where I met up with Michelle (Moshii), Wendy (Wendo) and Brendan (Seriously brendan, ur like the only one out of us who doesn't have their own nickname. =.-) Yet again, K was in order but this time we hit Big Echo, where 4 mikes were expected to give us 3hrs of $10pp fun! Again, Pepper Lunch was venue for eating, but this time for dinner. Talked for ages there, and had a good catch up conversation with the few 'good canto-speaking asians' that I spent countless Sunday hours with during high school. So we did the good asian thing and took stickies and skill testing at Capitol.

Friday was blood drive day, as organised by the one and only Linda Lin. It was my 1st time, and it hurt. =P And thus, my blood giving virginity was lost. With our arms a bit sore, the guys met up with the girls and we watched....HAIYAH! KUNG FU PANDA! It is HILARIOUS! IF YOU HAVN"T SEEN IT, WATCH IT!! =D. When the movie finished, I was actually quite sick of being in the city, so I just went home. Coincidentally, everybody else was also a bit bored, and also went home. Yay, company. =D

Saturday was Victor Nguyen's house birthday party. Must thank Jezzie for driving me and David to Vic's place. Seriously, Bankstown seemed a long way off. When we got there, colossal stacks of men were already there entertaining themselves. (Yes, I wrote it intentionally to be read on multiful levels). Playstation 3, Wii with Mario Kart, Good ol' fashioned N64, mahjong and alot of CS was played. All activities that don't require us talking. The way it was meant to be.

I skip ahead. We all went out to play Basketball first. The one sport that ties us all together. I must say, I'm extremely rusty. Must be the shit rings we have at UWS. Me and Moussa blame the kiddy rings. Seriously, a uni should have proper rings, not this 6foot rings shit. Left around 4:30-ish because I promised Mum to be home for dinner, and had a student for tutoring at 8:30. Finished that around 10:15-ish and hurriedly ran out for Mosh's b'day clubbing party.

Met up with Bill, who was at Star City beforehand, and we headed out to Verandah Bar, which was supposedly in Town Hall, but actually located right next to Martin Place station. Yay for guestlist entry, felt quite important actually. Hehe. Nothing to say about clubbing, its fun. You know what I mean, we've all done it. I'll list the important facts: Birthday girl was drunk. Enough asians to make for a good club, but not enough of them to call the place 'dirty' or 'Space-like'. Drinks were so and so pricey. Standard prices. Had 3 tequilas shots, and 2 Smirnoffs. I like sucking lemons. =D Good on Henry and Daniel for coming out with me. Took the Nightbus back home and fell asleep the moment I hit the bed. Was around 4:30am.

Sunday. Woke up at 2pm. Did tutoring corrections for students and then had a two hour tuition session with my sister on Chemistry. When I finished it was 7pm, and I quickly got changed for Phie's dinner at Star Bar. Got there around 8:15, and fearing I had already missed dinner, shot upstairs and met a whole bunch of people I've never met before. Wished the pretty birthday girl my sincerest good intentions and had a smashing time getting owned in pool. Was nice seeing everybody again after so long. =) And good work on Ping (think that's her name, I'm horrible with names) and Tina for doing the Tequila shot with us. And many thanks to Samson and his ahem, direct conversations. Shek was a lightweight and puked his goodness all over the train and Alfie saw him off. I hit home around 12am and collapsed, still tired from Sat night. Why is it we still feel so tired even if we've had adequate sleep. Stress phenomenon? Unaccustomed increase in daily activities? Note to self: check it up in one of your textbooks.

Monday. Crashed Yu Lin's place, who btw, moved back to the street next to mine. Saw Alfie there and remembered he slept over at Yu Lin's the night before. We went out for lunch with Shek at Canton House. Havn't been there in ages. Wonton Noodles there is verr tasty.

Shek went home. The rest of us went to Lily's house because she apparently has 'nothing to do'. Played a lot of mahjong before I went to Bankstown RSL for buffet with family friends. Turns out it was the day the selective school results came out, so yeah, celebrated the fact one of the kiddies made Sydney Tech. Although the mood was also quite awkward, since he was a smart kid, and not dissing Sydney Tech or anything, but failed to make Baulko, and like Reserve place 40 for Sydney Boys. So yeah...let him continuously vent his rage through smashing people in my PSP. Completely drained my battery. Had parents drop me back in Beverly Hills where I walked it to Lily's and continued the poker/dvd/mahjong get together. Congrats also to Kelly, Lily's sister, for making North Sydney Girls.

Wow, I wrote like heaps. I wonder if anybody even made it all the way down from the start of this blog. And writing all this was actually quite relaxing, because it feels like I havn't been home in ages. Because now I"m finally up to what I did today.

Tuesday. I know alot of people went to Alfred's movie thing today, and I'm actually kinda regretting that I didn't go myself. But I woke up at like 11am, and Priscilla proceeded to call me and announced she was coming over. She arrived at like 12, demanding lunch. 10 min later Yu Lin comes over and says he needs the internet since he doesn't have it atm, and needs to sign a contract with BigPond just so he can get line rental. Seriously, he doesn't even have a home number atm. The woes of living alone with your parents up the coast.
Cooked the two noodles, scrambled egg and spam. Easy lunch. Was okay. Should've added more salt to the eggs. Then I proceeded to go shopping with Pris for a while, and bought a pair of jeans and a scarf.

I came home, and started writing this blog post, and this has taken me like 1/2 an hour and maybe more to write. And during the process of writing this, Pris just called me and told me that I took the wrong pair of jeans and she has mine. T_T. So yeah, she's coming over now and exchanging them. Yayyers. And that is all! And btw, I really love this song that's playing. Its like the 2nd one of his 勁歌金曲, except this time, its a compilation of the greatest mando songs.

So yeah, Cambridge in and out I suppose. Birthday coming up in 2 days. I feel old.

Life's little lessons / Saturday, May 17, 2008
Whenever a woman asks you a question, your response should be :
"Do what you like." or something that is humorous, or of a distracting nature.
Never express an opinion that could contradict her. That would lead to blunder.
If you choose to say something of a distracting nature, it better be distracting, or else she'll still bring it back up after she pretends to laugh at your otherwise lame joke.

Car Accident / Saturday, April 26, 2008
I got fucking hit by a car....again!
WHY THE PUCK DOES IT ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME!? TELL MEEEEEE!!!

I was driving me and my sister home tonight, after picking her up from a party, and we got hit....from behind.

Okay, blog is just to rage-vent. Got hit around 9:40pm on the 26th april 2008, where I got hit from behind, on a roundabout where I slowed my car down to allow the car on my immediate right cross.
Behind me was a VS commodore, driven by a greek/leb guy who was on his P2's, who admits to failing to brake in time to stop crashing into my already stationary car.

Bam.

He was very cooperative and admitted it was his fault. So yeah...understandable, but still, want to rage and rage rage. He's insured by Just Cars, figures.

This means I have to go through the whole process of going to NRMA, and getting all the details conked out...again. And then that'll mean the car will be out to some garage to be fixed....again. Meaning my family will be left carless...again. And in all this, even though everybody knows its not my fault (which IT NEVER FUCKING IS!), everybody's confidence in my driving capabilities depreciates.

1. Gets hit by a douche reversing straight into my car at airport. Reason: Didn't see me.
2. Gets hit and loses right frontlight by a hit and run when I left the car parked for the day.
3. Gets hit from behind by a guy who couldn't press his brakes in time.

T___T
Do I look like I'm a good target to hit or something?!
